Your air conditioner needs to have regular maintenance done if you want it to function properly and last a long time. There’s a lot more than you might think that goes in to an air conditioning maintenance appointment. This is a good thing, as you want your air conditioning system to work well and keep your home comfortable. The three things that you can expect during your air conditioning maintenance appointment are:
- Thorough Cleaning – Over time, air conditioners collect dirt and dust. Major issues can arise if your air conditioner is allowed to stay dirty. Air will not circulate properly, and the performance of your air conditioner can decrease. This means that the temperatures inside the home may fluctuate a lot, and it may be more difficult to keep a consistent, cool airflow. You can expect that your air conditioner will be well cleaned during your maintenance appointment.
- Inspection – Your air conditioning system will be thoroughly inspected from the outside and inside. The maintenance technician will be looking for any damage, parts wearing out, and any problems that need to be addressed. The technician will measure the voltage and amps of the blower motor. Your thermostat will also be looked at to make sure it is calibrated correctly. All electrical connections will be inspected. Lastly, your condensate line and drain pan will be inspected to make sure there are no blockages that may cause flooding.
- Fixing Problems – Lastly, the air conditioning maintenance technician will fix any problems they found during the inspection process.
