In the middle of summer, the last thing you want is to have your air conditioner breaking down and leaving you in the dense heat until the repair company comes to save the day. Fortunately, there are ways you can avoid such incidents and keep your air conditioner running efficiently and reliably all summer. Here are a few ways to prevent the need for air conditioning repair.

How to Prevent the Need for Air Conditioning Repair

  • Regular maintenance: The best way to prevent the need for an air conditioning repair is by scheduling regular maintenance. We typically recommend scheduling maintenance at least once a year or more frequently, depending on the age and how often you use your air conditioner. During our regular maintenance visits, we will check that everything is working properly and efficiently, clean and oil the working parts, and perform any other services you may need to keep your unit working at top efficiency. Cleaning and optimizing the parts will also help to prevent any damage to your unit.
  • Regular inspections: Similar to air conditioning maintenance, we recommend scheduling an inspection for your air conditioning system at least once a year or any time you suspect there is something wrong with it. During our inspection, we pay close attention to detail as we look for any signs of potential or existing damage. We can then make the necessary minor repairs or tune-ups to prevent any further damage that would cause malfunctions or the need for more extensive repairs in the future.
  • Watch for the signs: Though this last one will not prevent the need for air conditioning repair, it can prevent the need for major repairs. You can watch for warning signs that you might need a repair, so you can catch it early on before the damage becomes more extensive. Some of the warning signs include poor air flow or hot air coming through the vents, strange noises, liquid leaking from the unit, frequent cycling, higher indoor humidity, and strange odors coming from the unit. If you notice any of those warning signs, you will want to call us for a repair right away.
